Buddy Bluetooth photo The VEA Buddy displays all of your notifications via it’s touch screen so you can leave your smartphone in your pocket and interact directly with the smartwatch. Incoming calls, tweets, email, calendar appointments – all right from your wrist.

Smartwatches have never really hit it big as of yet with mainstream buyers, but there is some real potential to get it right. By connecting with our phones, smartwatches can alert us to incoming messages, tell us the weather, give us a glimpse at news headlines or act as remote controls — all without ever making us reach into our pockets. The VEA BUDDY looks slick and shows loads of promise. The team who developed it wanted it to be universal, regardless of the brand or the OS.

It will be very interesting to watch the smartwatch market over the next year as promising projects will potentially have to go up against Apple as reports have come out suggesting the tech giant is currently working on one. Time will tell I suppose.
